NJIT Celebrates 125 Years at the Edge in Knowledge In May, NJIT kicked off a year-long celebration of the university’s 125th anniversary. The institution has grown and developed from a local technical school to New Jersey’s science and technology university, but has never lost sight of its original goals - to support New Jersey’s economy by providing industry with a technologically-trained workforce, and to help young people from many backgrounds to succeed and lead in engineering, science and technological fields.
